Vision
The Cal Poly Game Development Club is a student chapter of the IGDA (International Game Development Association.) CPGD’s vision is threefold: community, development, and advocacy.
One of the club’s main goals is to foster a healthy environment where peers can gather and share their interest in game development. Offering professional resources and connections to that community to help it grow and mature would be another goal that we would focus on.
Within that community we help aid groups in actually designing and developing real games, gaining real experience. Activities and workshops will help newcomers to learn how to design and develop games, and will help teams stay on track during their development cycles.
Finally, we also work on advocating game development to others in the community at large, be it Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, or surrounding universities.
